Answering Machine
REMOTE ACC. Switch remote access ON or OFF.
COMPRESSION Use the up/down key to set the compression rate for incom-
ing messages (LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH). This feature affects
the incoming recording capacity and quality. At LOW com-
pression the recording quality is highest but the recording
capacity is reduced. To increase the recording capacity
choose MEDIUM or HIGH compression.
BS SCREENING Switch the screening of incoming messages via the base sta-
tion loudspeaker On or Off. This feature allows you to listen to
the caller whilst they are recording their message. Then if you
want to intercept the call lift the handset and press the Off
Hook button. If you do not wish to be disturbed by calls then
set this feature to Off.
CHANGE PIN
Enter the remote access PIN (default 0 0 0 0). This PIN is
needed for remote accessing the answering machine from a
tone-dialling (DTMF) telephone.
Screening of incoming messages / Taking a call from the answering
machine
During an incoming message SCREENING appears on the
display. Press OK if you want to listen to the caller whilst
they are recording their message.
Then if you want to intercept the call:
Press the Off Hook button.
