Never recharge nonrechargeable batteries
and do not short-circuit and / or open any
batteries.
Never throw batteries into fire or water.
Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries.
Risk of battery leaking
In the event of a battery leak, immediately re-
move it from the device to prevent damage.
Avoid contact with the skin, eyes and mucous
membranes. In the event of contact with battery
acid, thoroughly flush the affected area with
clean water and seek immediate medical
attention.
Avoid extreme conditions and temperatures
which may impact batteries, e.g. radiators!
Remove the battery from the device if it is not
going to be used for extended periods.
Risk of property damage
Use only the recommended battery type!
When inserting the battery ensure the correct
polarity! This is indicated on the battery com-
partment cover.
If necessary, clean the battery and device con-
tacts before inserting the battery.
Promptly remove drained batteries from the
product.
Before assembly
The integrated solar cell 6 of the article converts
solar radiation into electrical energy and stores it in
the NiMH rechargeable battery. The light switches
itself on when it starts to get dark. The integrated
LED is an energy-saving illuminant with a very long
life. The burn time depends on the solar radiation,
the angle of incidence of the light falling onto the
solar cell
6 , and the temperature (due to the
temperature dependence of the capacity of the
rechargeable batteries). The ideal situation is a
vertical angle. Given the best conditions, a burn time
of 6–8 hours can be achieved. The rechargeable
battery will only achieve its maximum capacity
after several charging and discharging cycles.
Assembly
Insert the lower standpipe 3 into the upper
standpipe 2 then insert it to decoration
attachment 1 (see Fig. A).
Unfold the solar casing 5 (see Fig. A).
Use the ground spike 4 to place the light with
into the ground (lawn, flower bed, etc.).
Note: Ensure that the product stands firmly in
place. Do not use any force when assembling
or setting up the product, e.g. hammer blows.
This damages the product.
Note: For the best results, put the light in a place
where the solar cell
6 is exposed to direct
sunlight for as long as possible. Do not put the
light under bushes, trees, canopies etc. as this
reduces the incidence of incoming sunlight.
Position the lamp in such a way that the solar
cell
6 is not covered or in the shade.
Note: Make sure that the solar cell 6 is not
near another source of light such as street or
garden lighting as the light will otherwise not
switch itself on automatically when it starts to
get dark.
Replacing the rechargeable
battery (Fig. B)
Note: For this step, you will need a cross head
screwdriver.
Switch the product off by means of the ON /
OFF button 8 before removing or inserting
the rechargeable battery.
Fold the solar casing 5 up against the upper
standpipe 2 .
Pull the lower standpipe 3 off the upper
standpipe 2 .
Open the rechargeable battery compartment 7
on the bottom of the solar casing 5 . To do so,
unscrew all screws anti-clockwise using a cross
head screwdriver.
Carefully remove the housing cover. Ensure that
you do not damage the wiring. Take out the
used or exhausted rechargeable battery.
