Clamp oil cup (22a) into the holder. When grilling, excess
fat will accumulate in the grill base and run into the tin.

17. Place the black painted lavastone grate (24) on the bottom

holders in the pan. Distribute the lavastones (25) evenly,
in one layer on the lavastone grate. For best results when
grilling, approximately 7080 % of the grate should be
covered.

Place the grill rack (26) on the top holders in the grill pan
(see Fig. 17).

18. Clamp the warming grate (27) into the holes on the lid and

in the grill pan as shown in Fig. 18.

Mounting the gas hose

Note: The gas container and gas tube have left-handed

threading! If necessary, replace the hose if this is re-
quired by national regulations.

Danger Fire/explosion hazard!

Only use one hose connection between the device
and the gas container, which does not exceed the

recommended length of 1.5 m.

1. Screw tighten one end of the gas hose (28) onto the connec-

tion on the back of the control panel and tighten the union
nut with a size 17 wrench (see Fig. 19).
Lay the hose so that it does not kink or twist.

2. Screw tighten the other end of the gas hose (28) onto the

enclosed pressure regulator (29) using a size 17 wrench
(see Fig. 19).

Attaching the textile cover

• Attach the textile cover (32) to the two front support legs as

shown in Fig. 21.

Setting up the grill

Attention Risk of damage!

Any screwed connections may gradually loosen dur-
ing use and affect the stability of the grill.

– Before use, always check that the screws are secure. If nec-

essary, tighten all screws again in order to ensure that the
grill has a stable position.

1. Before use, place the grill on a level, solid base located

outdoors.

2. Place the gas container next to or behind the grill and do not

in any case place it on the support under the grill.

3. Check the gas container and the connections for leaks (see

section “Checking for gas leaks”).

4. Check the grill burner for any blockages if you have not used

the barbecue for a prolonged period of time.

Connecting the gas container

In order to use this grill, you will need a commercially-available
5 kg or 11 kg propane or butane gas container.

Danger Risk of fire/explosion/poisoning!

Leaking gas may form a highly explosive air/gas mix-
ture that could cause a fire or explosion and could

result in life-threatening injuries or death.

– Never connect the gas supply to the gas grill without a pres-

sure regulator that corresponds to the country-specific pres-
sure.

– Make sure that the gas hose has been firmly mounted and

that the hose connection is always accessible along its entire
length.

1. Turn both temperature controls to position (Off).

2. Make sure that the gas container valve (30) of the gas con-

tainer is closed.

3. Screw the safety cap off of the container valve threading.

4. Check for the presence and proper condition of the contain-

er valve threading gasket. Do not use any other gaskets!

5. Screw the union nut (31) of the pressure regulator (29) onto

the gas container valve threading by turning it counter-
clockwise (left-hand thread) and tighten it by hand. Do not
use any tools as this could damage the gas container valve
gasket so that it is no longer gas tight.

6. Lay the gas hose so that it does not kink or twist.

7. Check all connections for gas leaks (see section “Checking

for gas leaks”).

Checking for gas leaks

1. Turn both temperature controls to the position (Off).

2. Open the container valve.

3. Apply soap water to all screwed connections and the gas

hose. If bubbles form, then a connection is loose or the gas
hose is cracked and may no longer be used. Do not use the
grill; instead immediately close the gas container valve.

4. Check the screwed connections and if necessary, tighten

the nuts. Then repeat the check.

5. If there is still a gas leak, contact our customer service cen-

tre. You will find the contact data in the section “Distributor”.

6. Close the container valve when you are not using the grill.
