Battery safety instructions

DANGER TO LIFE! Keep

batteries out of the reach of children. Do not leave
batteries lying around. There is a risk of children or
animals swallowing them. Consult a doctor immedi-
ately if a battery is swallowed.

EXPLOSION HAZARD! Never
recharge nonrechargeable batteries,
short-circuit and / or open batteries.

This can cause them to overheat, burn or burst.
Never throw batteries into fire or water. The
batteries may explode.

Remove spent batteries from the product imme-

diately. Otherwise there is an increased risk of
leakage.

Always replace all the batteries at once.
Do not use different types of batteries or mix

used and new batteries together.

Remove the batteries from the product if it is not

in use for any length of time.

If the above instructions are not complied with,

the batteries may discharge themselves beyond
their end voltage. There is a danger of leaking.
If the batteries have leaked inside your device,
you should remove them immediately in order
to prevent damage to the device!

Make sure that the polarity is correct when you

insert the batteries. This is indicated in the battery
compartment. The batteries can otherwise
explode.

Remove used batteries from the device. Very

old or used batteries may leak. The chemical
fluid can damage the product.

Check regularly that the batteries are not leaking.

Leaked or damaged batteries can
cause chemical burns if they come
into contact with the skin; in such

cases you must wear suitable protective gloves.

Before getting started

Inserting / replacing

the batteries

Place the top part with the lid

facing down-

wards onto a sufficiently large, scratch-resistant
subsurface. You may have to place a blanket
or similar under it in order to avoid damaging
the product.

Push the battery compartment lid in the direction

of the arrows until it comes off the battery com-
partment.

Remove the used batteries if necessary.
Insert 4 batteries (type: 1.5 V

, D size, R20).

Note: Ensure correct polarity. This is indicated
in the battery compartment.

Place the battery compartment lid onto the

battery compartment and push it in the opposite
direction to that indicated by the arrow until it
clicks into place.

Using the holding ring (Fig. C - G)

Place an appropriate bin liner into the plastic

inner bucket.

Place the plastic inner bucket with the bin liner

into the stainless steel bin.

Put the holding ring for bin liners

7

on to the

stainless steel bin to fix the inserted bin bag in
place. This is intended to prevent rubbish from
getting between the plastic bin insert and the
stainless steel bin.

Place the top part with sensor lid upon the

stainless steel bin.
