TROUBLESHOOTING
Symptom Cause Remedy
High noise level. e Tape itself has high noise level.
• Connecting cable has been connected improperly.
e Unit has been placed near TV set.
e Recording level is too low.
e Dirty the heads.
e Heads are magnetized.
a Replace cassette tape.
a Inspect input and output connections: connect
cables properly (see page 7).
a Move the deck away from the TV set or turn the
TV power off.
a Turn up recording level and record (see page 18).
a Clean the heads (see page 6).
a Demagnetize them with head eraser.
Cannot use the remote
control system. e The control cable is not connected. a Connect control cable properly (see page 7).
(CT-S450S only)
CD»DECK SYNCHRO
recording cannot be
carried out. e CD»DECK SYNCHRO control cable and input/Output
cables are not connected,
a The cassette tape accidental erasure prevention tabs
broken.
e The tape ran out while in the CD . DECK SYNCHRO
mode.
a Connect correctly (see page 7).
a Replace the cassette with one whose tabs are
intact (see page 4 and 5).
a Replace the tape with a longer one.
(CT-S450S only)
The CD SYNC indicator
is off during CD»DECK
SYNCHRO recording.
a After the deck entered recording standby mode,
more than 1 minute elapsed before the CD player
resumed playback.
a Change the disc and press the CD SYNCHRO
button again.
Abnormal functioning of this unit may be caused by static electricity, or other external interference. To restore normal operation, unplug the AC
power cord and then plug it in again.
