Congratulations on your purchase of
the new Revox Active Subwoofer, and
thank you for your trust in our high-
quality products. Your Revox loud-
speakers have been developed
according to state-of-the-art electro-
acoustic technology and built with the
utmost care.
To enjoy an excellent sound quality in
your home, carefully read the following
instructions before first-time operation.
We placed a lot of emphasis on their
tonal balance when developing the
concept for these speakers and on the
adaptation to the Re:sound S and
Re:sound G series speakers.
As a result, this speaker is an ideal
enhancement to the multi-channel
Home Cinema system.
Unpacking
We recommend that you keep the
packaging material in case you should
need it in the future to transport the
speakers.
Characteristics
The Revox Active 03 and Active 04
subwoofers are bass speakers that
have been conceived to be free-
standing. An integrated, high-quality
amplifier feeds an 18 cm respectively
25cm long stroke bass chassis that
was specially developed for this
application, which is located in a bass
reflex housing. Emissions are made
downwards. The sound exits through a
defined gap between the bass of the
housing and the floor. The amplifier
electronics contains a subsonic filter,
which prevents damaging membrane
displacements, particularly with very
low (subsonic) frequencies.
Additionally, the Active 03 / 04 has a
soft-clipping function. If the output
rating is exceeded, this function gently
throttles the amplifier back to the
performance limit so that no audible
distortions or interruptions can occur.
The Active subwoofers series were
developed for deployment with high-
quality stereo and Home Cinema
systems and in spite of their modest
dimensions, deliver a deep and
powerful bass reproduction.
