Connection panel explanations
Status display (red/green)
The LED displays the status of the
Active subwoofer:
Red
LED
: The unit is in standby mode
and needs approx. 0.5 watts.
Green
LED
: The unit is switched on.
Low frequency input (LFE)
Connection for the LFE output (Low
Frequency Effect) from Home Cinema
amplifiers/receivers or sub-out from
Revox Re:system units (M51, M100) or
S-series. Using this input, the signal
does not go through the low pass filter
and for this reason should already
have been low pass filtered.
Line input (Stereo L/R)
Connection for units with pre-amp
output. Both signals are added
internally and then pass through the
controllable low pass filter. For this
reason, a previous low pass filtering is
not necessary.
Volume control
Volume setting. In order to ensure a
good signal-to-noise ratio and the
activation of the automatic switch-on
function, it makes sense to select a
high input level and to reduce the
amplification (volume control)
accordingly.
Low pass controller (Line input)
Continuously adjustable low pass filter
with a cut-off frequency between 40 -
200 Hz. The higher the frequency that is
selected, the greater the localisation of
the Active subwoofer. In order to
achieve perfect sound matching
between the Active subwoofer and the
satellite speakers, the upper cut-off
frequency (the frequency at which the
bass level drops off) should be
selected such that there is neither a
resonance nor a gap in transmission, in
the switchover range between the
subwoofer and the satellite speakers.
Adjusting in a clockwise direction
increases the switchover frequency to
the satellites. Correspondingly,
adjusting in the opposite direction
lowers the frequency range that the
Active subwoofer works in.
Note
The low pass controller has no effect if
you are using the LFE input.
Phase switch 0°/180°
Using the phase switch, the subwoofer
signal can be turned by 180°,
corresponding to reversing the
polarity. In this way, the adjustment to
the other speakers can be improved,
depending on the location of the
speaker.
