4 Anwendung
Kapillaren montieren
1. Spannkopf ein kleines Stück in den
Universalkapillarenhalter
einschrauben.
2. Kapillare durch die innenliegenden
O-Ringe bis zum Anschlag in den
Universalkapillarenhalter
hineinschieben.
3. Spannkopf festschrauben.
4. Bei Bedarf die Kapillare mit der
vorderen Rändelschraube
ausrichten.
Eppendorf Femtotips montieren
1. Adapter für Femtotips in den
Universalkapillarenhalter
einschrauben.
2. Femtotip in den Adapter für
Femtotips einschrauben.
3. Bei Bedarf den Femtotip mit der
vorderen Rändelschraube
ausrichten.
5 O-Ringe tauschen
Spannkopf
1. Dichtscheiben und O-Ringe mit
dem Entnahmewerkzeug (z.B. O-
Ring-Set) entfernen.
2. O-Ringe zwischen Dichtscheiben
einsetzen.
Adapter für Femtotips
1. O-Ring mit Entnahmewerkzeug
entfernen.
2. Neuen O-Ring einsetzen.
Bei Kapillaren mit einem
Innendurchmesser von
<0,8 mm ist kein Anschlag
spürbar.
4 Usage
Mounting the capillary
1. Slightly screw the grip head into the
universal capillary holder.
2. Slide the capillary through the inner
O-rings up to the stop into the
universal capillary holder.
3. Tighten the grip head.
4. If necessary, align the capillary
using the front knurled screw.
Mouting Eppendorf Femtotips
1. Screw the Femtotip adapter into the
universal capillary holder.
2. Screw the Femtotip into the
Femtotip adapter.
3. If necessary, align the Femtotip
using the front knurled screw.
5 Changing the O-rings
Grip head
1. Remove the sealing washers and
the two O-rings using the removal
tool (e.g. O-ring set)
2. Attach two new O-rings between
the two sealing washers.
Adapter for Femtotips
1. Remove the O-ring using the
removal tool.
2. Attach the new O-ring.
There will not be a perceptible
stop, when using
microcapillaries with an inner
diameter of <0.8 mm.

3 Sicherheitshinweise
WARNUNG! Verletzungsgefahr durch
umherfliegende Glaskapillaren und Splitter.
Kapillaren können sich unter hohem Druck aus den
Spannköpfen lösen und zum Geschoss werden
oder bei der falscher Handhabung oder bei der
Berührung der Petrischale oder anderer Objekte
zersplittern.
 Montieren Sie die Kapillaren immer drucklos.
 Richten Sie Kapillaren niemals auf Personen.
 Tragen Sie stets eine Schutzbrille.
 Berühren Sie mit der Kapillare nicht die
Petrischale oder andere Gegenstände.
 Überprüfen Sie die korrekte Befestigung der
Kapillare in den Spannköpfen.
 Überprüfen Sie, dass der Außendurchmesser
der Kapillare den Spezifikationen des
Spannkopfes entspricht.
 Überprüfen Sie, ob die Kapillare nicht verstopft
ist.
 Bei selbstgefertigter Kapillare: Stellen Sie
sicher, dass die Kapillare dem ausgesetzten
Druck Stand hält.

3 Safety notes
WARNING! Risk of injury from flying glass
capillaries and splinters.
At high pressure, capillaries may become detached
from the grip heads and be ejected at high speed,
or they may shatter if not handled properly or they
come into contact with the petri dish or other
objects.
 Always mount the capillaries without pressure.
 Never point capillaries at persons.
 Always wear protective goggles.
 Make sure that the capillary does not come into
contact with the petri dish or other objects.
 Check that the capillary is fixed correctly in the
grip heads.
 Check that the outer diameter of the capillary
corresponds to the specifications of the grip
head.
 Check that the capillary is not blocked.
 In the case of independently-manufactured
capillaries: make sure that the capillary is
capable of withstanding the applied pressure.
