How can I fMI a paithHii«’ position on the tape ?
It’s possible that you may have recorded two or more different
programmes on the same cassette.
Your Video recorder has several automatic search functions.
Those features will help you find recordings without searching
for long periods.
Searching for a tape position (GOTO):
O
Press button on the remote control.
O Press the digit buttons 0-9 to enter the desired position to
which you would like the tape to go.
o You may now select the function to be started from that point,
e.g. II ■ , h- o r # .
The video recorder will rewind or wind the tape to the position
you have entered and will automatically begin the chosen
function starting from that point.
Here is another tip: If you have recorded different programmes on
a cassette, always write down the tape positions where the recor­
dings start (e.g. tape counter position ‘3450’). You will be able to find
the corresponding position by using the ‘GOTO function’.
VHS Index Search System (VISS):
At the beginning of each recording ( including OTR and timed
recording), a VISS code mark is made on the tape.
Using the button <— or —^ you can search for the previous or the
following markon the tape. From this point on the video recorder will
start a chosen function (e.g. play ► , record • or stop II ■ ).
This function cannot be used for recordings which have been made
on a video recorder without the VISS function.

Press the button or —>■ to select the previous or the
following VISS mark.
If you wish to select a mark which is not the first one you come
across, press button or —> as many times as necessary.
The display will show, e.g.:

O Select the function to be started from the selected mark.
The video recorder will now search for the selected mark and
begin the chosen function.
Please note:
• If button or —> is pressed again during the search, the
new mark number is added to the number shown on the display at
that moment (within - 9 to + 9). Any subsequent function selected
replaces the previous one.
• Remember that the video recorder was already searching for
marks and that with each mark passed the first number decreases
by one.
• If any tape transport button is pressed during the search, the
index search function is cancelled and the video recorder will
respond to the button pressed.
• Pressing button II ■ cancels the index search function.

Intro scan:
This function will give you a review of all the programmes recorded
on a tape.
O
Press button —^.
The tape will play for 10 seconds. Afterwards the tape will wind
to the following VISS mark and again play for 10 seconds and so
on.

When the end of the tape is reached, the tape will rewind to the
beginning.
You can interrupt the intro scan function by pressing any tape
transport button (e.g. ► if you have found the recording you wish
to watch).
