The sensing kit DASI-Q11-...-A-KT is intended for external end-position sens-
ing for semi-rotary drive 9.
Additional sensor brackets 4 and switch lugs 7 can also be ordered for the
semi-rotary drive with intermediate position module DRRD-...-PS1 or if exter-
nal stops are used.

2. General instructions

Warning

Danger of injury due to uncontrolled movement of components!
 Mount or dismantle only in a pressureless status.
 Observe the safety instructions in the operating instructions of the semi-

rotary drive.

Information

Both magnetic and inductive proximity sensors may be used. The sensor
bracket has a T-slot.
 Select the corresponding accessories from our catalogue

(

www.festo.com/catalogue

).

3. Mounting
3a. Mounting the flange
1
 Position the semi-rotary drive 9 in the neutral position.

18315d_2

 Fasten the flange 1 with

the screws 2 and centring
sleeves 3.

 Comply with the permissible

tightening torque
(

 section 4).

3b. Assembling the sensor bracket 4 and switch lugs 7

18315d_3

 Fasten one slot nut 6 each

to the sensor brackets 4 by
using the screws 5.

Note

To avoid collisions with the proximity sensors:
 Select the permissible proximity sensors from our catalogue

(

www.festo.com/catalogue

).

Information

At a swivel angle of 180° one switch lug 7 is sufficient.

18315d_4

 Mount the proximity sen-

sors (A) centrally in the sen-
sor brackets 4.

 Observe the operating in-

structions for the proximity
sensor (A).

18315d_5

 Insert the pre-assembled

sensor bracket 4 into the
upper sensor slot of the
semi-rotary drive 9.

 Screw the threaded pin 8

into the switch lug 7.

 Push the switch lug 7 at

the recess (B) into the cir-
cumferential slot of the
flange

3c. Setting the proximity sensors (A)
 Position the semi-rotary drive 9 with compressed air into the end posi-

tion.

18315d_6

 Position the switch lug 7 so

that it is at a right angle to
the semi-rotary drive 9.

 Clamp the switch lug 7 in

the slot by using the thread-
ed pin 8.

 Comply with the permissible

tightening torque
(

 section 4).

18315d_7

 Push the sensor bracket 4

against the direction of rota-
tion of the semi-rotary
drive 9, towards the switch
lug 7, until the first switch-
ing point of the proximity
sensor (A) is reached.

Note

Multiple switching cycles are possible depending on the design.
Avoid malfunctions!
 Make sure that the proximity sensor (A) is set to the first switching point.

18315d_8

The distance Y

1)

can be set

through the vertical movement
of the sensor bracket 4 within
the tolerance range.

Note

To avoid collisions:
 The switch lug 7 must not rub against the sensor bracket 4 and/or the

proximity sensor (A).

To achieve a reliable switching function when using inductive sensors:
 Comply with distance Y ( table).

Proximity sensors such as the SMT-8B, SME-8 and SME-8-O can protrude in
height by up to 0.4 mm and are therefore not recommended.

 Set distance Y as follows.

Proximity sensor (A)

Inductive

Magnetic

Y

0.3 ... 1.3 mm

min. 0.8 mm

18315d_9

 Evenly tighten screws 5.
 Comply with the permissible

tightening torque
(

 section 4).

1)

Y = from the bottom edge of the switch lug 7 to the upper edge of the sensor bracket 4

18315d_10

The proximity sensor (A) can be
finely adjusted at any time by
shifting it in the slot of the sen-
sor bracket 4.

 Repeat the settings for the second end position.
 Conduct a test run to check whether the proximity sensors (A) switch relia-

bly.
