The guide unit 1 - 3 is designed to serve as a stop or stopper cylinder or as
a single-axis feeding unit with larger masses on the yoke plate.

Caution

Sudden uncontrolled movements of the guide unit 1 - 3 can cause injury
to people.
• Make sure that:

mounting is performed in the pressureless state.

nobody can place his/her hand in the path of the moving mass, e.g. by

providing a protective guard (

there are no objects in the positioning range.

2. Mounting, general

Note

To avoid functional faults and increased wear:
• Pay attention to the characteristic curves and permissible limits from our

catalogue (

• Handle the guide unit 1 – 3 so that the guide rods and piston rod are

not damaged.

• Make sure that the mounting surface (H) and the surface (I) of the

mounting parts are even.

• Ensure that the guide unit 1 – 3 is not deformed during installation.

Only with the GF variant is it necessary for the surface (I) to be exactly even; otherwise, the

guide rods might jam.

2)

Use of centring sleeves is not possible for DFM 20…40-B and mounting variant d).

In the case of DFM-…-B-…-EJ, the mounting variant d) is possible only under certain circum-

stances or to a limited extent, since the fastening holes are largely covered.

Information

Fitting the guide unit 1 - 3:
• Use screws 5 with a screw-in length as close as possible to 1.5 x d

• But fasten your guide unit with at least 2 screws 5, depending on the

load, size and stroke length.

Note

Mounting the variant d):
With protruding guide rods in the retracted state:
• Ensure there is clear passage of the guide and stop rods, e.g. through

grooves in the mounting surface (H).

3. Mounting the proximity sensors

Information

When intermediate strokes are being sensed, in some cases the proximity
sensor can be at the level of a fastening hole (m) and not fastened.
• Note the following mounting alternatives: e) – g):

Move the proximity

sensor 6 around 6 mm
inside an operating path (b).

• Note that every sensor groove is covered with a groove cover ABP 7 and

each cable can be fastened with it (

4. Stroke setting for guide unit 13

(no metallic stop).

• Exhaust the guide unit 1 - 3.

Retracted end position (EJ)

Advanced end position (AJ)

• Loosen the lock nuts (D)

• Loosen the lock nut (F) while

fixing the stop nut (G).

• Adjust the stop rod (Y) with the

socket head (E) to the desired
stroke.

• Shorten the stroke by max.

10 mm.

• Adjust the stop nut (G) to the

desired stroke.

• Shorten the stroke by max.

10 mm.

• Tighten the lock nut (D).
• Maintain the permitted

tightening torque

• Tighten the lock nut (F) while

holding the fixing (G).

• Maintain the permitted

• Start a test run to check the adjusted stroke.
