The moment compensator DARD-L1-...-M is intended to serve as a compen-
sating element between the slide (A) of the linear drives

and the effective
load to be moved.
The moment compensator also offers:
–
torque-free power transmission between the effective load and the
slide (A) of the linear drive
–
compensation for misalignment between the guide, effective load and axis
of the linear drive.
Information
Adapter plates DAMF-...-FKP are intended to create a larger interface. The
same interfaces of the previous moment compensators FKP-.../DARD-L1-...-S
are also created through this measure
(
corresponding assembly instructions).

2. Mounting
Note
In order to avoid material damage and operative malfunctions:
Align the linear drive in such a way that the maximum offset between the
linear drive and external guide specified in the catalogue is maintained
(
www.festo.com/catalogue
).
Fix the slide (A) so that no lateral forces are able to reach the guide.
If applicable, remove the existing blanking plugs from the mounting hole
of the slide (A).
Observe the permissible tightening torques ( section 4).
Always use all screws and the cylindrical dowel pin 7 to secure the effec-
tive load (
section 5a).
Secure the effective load as close as possible to the centre on the
block 5.
For DARD-L1-25 … -80-M:
There are two mounting variants for the block 5. The mounting steps
(
section 2b and 2c) show the standard mounting variant.
Standard mounting variant:
Make sure that the axis of
rotation (C) is underneath.
Mounting variant for adapter plate DAMF-25 … -80-FKP (accessories):
Make sure that the axis of
rotation (C) is on top.

Screw the strip 2 to the
slide (A) of the drive by us-
ing the screws 3.

Place the block 5 between
the joints 1 so that the axis
of rotation (C) is under-
neath.
Secure a joint 1 onto each
strip 2 and the block 5.
Press the cylindrical dowel
pin 7 into the block 5. Ob-
serve the protrusion
(
section 5b).

Attach the joints 1 to the
slide (A) of the drive as fol-
lows:
–
Thread the joint 1,
sleeve 2, slide (A),
sleeve 2, joint 1 and
nut 4 onto the screw 3.
When doing this observe the
correct alignment of the
sleeves 2.
–
Tighten the nut 4.

Select the mounting variant
(
note).
Place the block 5 between
the joints 1 so that the
hole (B) is located on the
outside
(
section 3b).
Tighten the screws 6.

Press the cylindrical dowel
pin 7 into the block 5. Ob-
serve the protrusion

section 5b).

Attach the joints 1 to the
slide (A) of the drive as fol-
lows:
–
Thread the joint 1,
sleeve 2, slide (A),
sleeve 2, joint 1 and
nut 4 onto the screw 3.
When doing this observe the
correct alignment of the
sleeves 2.
–
Tighten the nut 4.

Select the mounting variant
(

Place the block 5 between
the joints 1. For accurate
positioning
(
sections 3c, 3d, 3e).
Tighten the screws 6.
