Commissioning
· Make sure that:
ć nobody is standing in the positioning range of the work item
ć there are no objects within the positioning path (e.g. by providing a protective screen).
· Avoid long tubing and large air volumes between the suction grippers and the vacuum generator.
A large air volume leads to long evacuation times and possibly incorrect settings on the pressure
sensor.
· Take into account accelerations, external influences, etc. on the work item when setting the required
holding force.
Preparing commissioning
The vacuum generator must be in the RUN mode. The current measured values are displayed.
Note
The EDIT button is often used during commissioning to select and confirm values. To
avoid damage to the EDIT button, please actuate it only with a dull object.
The basic status can be reached from other modes via:
Ĉ press the EDIT button down for 3 s or
Ĉ when a monitoring period expires (Timeout è chapter 13. Menu structure).
1. Switch on the operating voltage.
è
The vacuum generator is in the RUN mode.
2. Check the settings of the vacuum generator.
Note
An overview of the menu structure can be found in chapter 13.
Building up the vacuum
1. Pressurize the vacuum generator with an operating pressure at pressure connection
3.
2. Switch on the operating voltage.
The solenoid valve (−CN, −CE) will be opened (with −OE, −ON the reverse). The compressed air flows
through the vacuum generator and generates an appropriate vacuum at vacuum connection
5.
The vacuum can be set by modification to the operating pressure.
To set the pressure sensor
The setting of the pressure sensor for monitoring the vacuum depends on the application.
The vacuum generator is preset at the factory (factory settings è chapter Fast commissioning").
These settingss can be adapted to the application via the EDIT mode or the TEACH mode.
